Dems demand amendments to cyber bill

Senate Democrats are ramping up the pressure on Republicans to allow some amendments to a cybersecurity bill this week, even though there’s some division in their own ranks about the merits of the information-sharing measure.

Five privacy-minded Democratic senators said they were seeking “a reasonable number of amendments” for the cybersecurity legislation, in a letter delivered Tuesday to their leader, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has teed the bill up for Senate action later this week.
