Tech glitches disrupted travel, the stock market and the news

The Internet freaked out when Wednesday produced one scary tech glitch after another — even though none were reportedly the result of cyberattacks. A computer glitch grounded United Airlines flights across the world, and while planes were back in the air quickly, the hiccup will reportedly disrupt more than a half a million travelers this week. One hour later, the New York Stock Exchange went down for several hours because of an “internal technical issue” that prevented investors from buying and selling securities. And as everyone flocked to the Wall Street Journal’s website to see what was going on, they found the news site was down as well.
