Universal Periodic Review (UPR) dialogue session on 25 March in DC

The US Human Rights Network cordially invites you to participate in a UPR dialogue session next Wednesday March 25, 2015 from 10am to 1pm.  The session will offer an opportunity for US human rights advocates as well as those who have been directly impacted by human rights  violations in the United States to speak with diplomats. We have  organized this dialogue session as part of a series to support the  preparation of UN State parties for the May 2015 Universal Periodic  Review of the United States.

This special event will begin with a plenary that will provide a  comprehensive understanding of the state of human rights in the United  States and will be followed by opportunities to discuss specific human  rights issues with human rights defenders and advocates. We hope that  this event will help you and your colleagues prepare to engage in the  U.S. Universal Periodic Review.

The event will be held at the following convenient location, near the  Van Ness Metro Stop on the Red Line:

UDC David A. Clarke School of Law
Room 518  Moot Court Room
4340 Connecticut Ave., NW # 454
Washington, DC 20008

We very much hope you can attend this dialogue with human rights  advocates. If you are unable to make this session, please note that  the next session in DC will be held on April 15, 2015 at the same  location from 10am-1pm.

If you do plan to attend either of these sessions please RSVP to  Bernadette Ellorin at

Please feel free to reach out to us should you, have any questions. We  look forward to the opportunity to meet with you as we prepare for the  Universal Periodic Review of the United States Government this year.
