Cobell Settlement: Finally Honoring Some Promises to Native Americans
The federal government's mismanagement of individual Indian Trust funds is one of the greatest scandals of the last century. Last December, the case was settled for $3.4 billion. The only catch: Congress had to approve the settlement by May 28. Precisely on that day, the House included the settlement in its jobs bill (H.R. 4213).
