Press Release:
Oglala, South Dakota

The Oglala Commemoration is pleased to announce the 10th annual commemoration event on June 26 in Oglala, SD. We gather to remember those lives lost during what is known as the "Reign of Terror," leading to the shoot-out at the Jumping Bull Property on June 26, 2009. On that day, three lives were lost and many lives were forever changed. We remember as we "Honor Our Warriors" past. present and future and bring awareness of and updates on Leonard Peltier's case as he approaches his parole hearing in July.

Activities begin with a Spiritual Ceremony at the Little Family Cemetery at the gravesite of Joe Stuntz at or around 1 PM, followed by a Memorial Walk to the Jumping Bull Property. There we gather and share words and memories, tears and laughter as we remember the murders still unsolved, and those who have walked on since in the struggle.

This year we will remember Bob Robideau, who walked on Feb 17th of this year. A give away in his honor will be held.

A concert commences at the Billy Mill's Hall in Pine Ridge, 5 PM, music provided by SpyderZback & Lady Hope. Guest Speakers will include the LP-DOC and local community members addressing current issues.
