Boston: Through Barbed Wire - 4th Friday Event

Through Barbed Wire - 4th Friday Event, Boston (info below)
Writings by men and women confined in Massachusetts prisons

Come sign the petition to Governor Patrick regarding honoring the experience and wisdom of the Massachusetts parole board in their unanimous recommendation for commutation by freeing Massachusetts prisoner Arnold King.

June 26th, 2009 is the day, 34 years ago, of the shoot out on the Pine Ridge reservation that led to Indigenous prisoner Leonard Peltier's frame and two consecutive life sentences by the US. We will be reading several of Leonard's poems and have available copies of the letter to the parole commission to sign. Peltier's parole hearing is scheduled for July 28th, 2009. Letters must be to the Parole Commission by July 1st. We will collect and send all letters gathered on Friday in time for that deadline.

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Where: Community Church of Boston at 565 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116 (Copley Square T Stop)

Information on Peltier and King can be found at:
