Message from Carlos Alberto Torres on the 29th anniversary of imprisonment

Message from Carlos Alberto Torres
April 19-25, 2009

Warm Greetings:

Today we mark 29 years of political imprisonment; 29 Aprils behind the bars of U.S. injustices.

And what was the crime? Fighting for the independence of our Puerto Rican Nation. An impossible crime, because in the history of humanity, freedom has been a crime only in the eyes of depots and tyrants.

I can assure you with serenity and steadfastness that it has been the greatest honor of my life to be able to defend with valor and sacrifice our Blessed Homeland. This is the challenge for all men and women who love their Homeland: struggle, struggle, struggle, until we reach our goal of Free Puerto Rico.

Thank you,

Carlos Alberto Torres
