Plans are still being worked on for the 2009 Event. Musicians are lined up, I have just been waiting on the venue confirmation, which is not coming in as fast as I hoped. I will start on a press release and hope the conformation comes in soon.
A shout out of thanks to all the bidders on the auction again. As I can not stress this enough but this online auction raises about 90% of the funds needed to pull this "free" event together. New items are listed, and I hit the bottom of the pile. I really don't have any items left to continue the auction past this leg, nor do I have many items for the upcoming pow-wows. I am in dire need of auction items. Any artist contributing to this, will received recognition and I can also send a link back to your website, So please if you do art, bead work, quilting etc.consider a donation.
School Supplies are still be collected for our annual school supply drive. These items are delivered to Oglala on our trip. We will also have a booth set up at the NAICCO Pow-wow - May 23 - 25, Hillard Ohio @ Franklin County Fairgrounds. Any items may be dropped off at our table there.
We will also be holding our bi-annual Pendleton Blanket Raffle. We are looking for an individual or group to sponsor the blanket cost. The blanket was picked up last year on our way home at the Pendleton Outlet store in Nebraska, the cost was $130, Your name / group name will be announced as a sponsor. We would like to give thanks to NAICCO once again, as they have been a sponsor of this event since the very beginning.
You can send auction items or school supplies to this address.

The annual scholarship winner should be announced soon. This scholarship is opened to all Oglala Lakota for the Oglala Lakota College with a GED certificate. This enabled them to continue on in a higher education, to make a different in their tribe.
Update: I want to shout out a huge thanks to Monica Walker for coming forward and sponsoring this spring,s Pendleton Blanket for the raffle. This is a beautiful blanket, be sure to buy your raffle tickets. The drawing will be held on May 25th at the NAICCO's pow-wow. This event would not, and could not happen without the people who sponsor us. Whether it be with auction items, auction bids, pendleton blankets, or raffle tickets. Musician or speaker. We give thanks to all of you.--OCC
